document-formats-supported

Identifies the document formats that this actual destination supports. InfoPrint Manager sets this value dynamically based on the DSS and the document formats for which transforms are available.

Allowed Values

There are no restrictions for these values based on the DSS type. However, it is the InfoPrint Manager Administrator's responsibility when modifying the defaults to make sure that either the DSS can handle the specified formats or to set up a transform object associated with the actual destination to transform the format into something that the DSS can handle.

InfoPrint Manager interrogates the printer to get information about the supported document formats.

Usage Guidelines

  • When you create a PSF or Email actual destination, InfoPrint Manager sets these values to the document formats for which transforms are available. When the server is shut down and restarted, InfoPrint updates the values to reflect transforms that have been added or deleted. You can also modify these values.
  • InfoPrint Manager compares the document attribute document-format to this attribute for validation and scheduling.
  • Delete attribute values to restrict use of this actual destination.
  • For an AIX DSS and CUPS DSS, if the printer natively supports printing PDF data stream, you can add the value pdf to the document-formats-supported actual destination attribute.
  • For a PSF-other DSS on an AIX or Linux server, if the document-formats-ripped-at-destination attribute contains the value pdf, you can add the value pdf to the document-formats-supported actual destination attribute.
  • If you cannot print PDF data stream to an AIX DSS after you added the pdf value to the document-formats-supported actual destination attribute, you can look in the error.log file of the server for this message:0782-026 A virtual printer has not been configured for print queue and queue device PD__Cojnec:queue_device. Refer to the mkvirprt command, or use local problem reporting procedures. If you find this message, it indicates that you have an old printer that was created before you migrated to the latest version of InfoPrint Manager. To resolve this problem, create a new printer.
