Network options, AIX settings, and environment variables that affect performance

You use the network options command, no, to set the network attributes. To print a list of all configurable attributes and their current values, specify no -a. This can be used to tune an AIX machine for different network attachments.

For information about the no command, see:

For information about the semaphores, see Interprocess communication limits, which is available at https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/aix/6.1?topic=aix-older-versions.

Use the maxmbuf command to limit the amount of memory used by the communication subsystem. If maxmbuf is set to 0, the value of thewall (no -o thewall) determines the maximum amount of memory to be used by the communication subsystem.
