Enabling LDAP mode

If you are using the InfoPrint Manager Pull Print feature with your InfoPrint Manager server, enable the LDAP mode. If you enable the LDAP mode, SAP clients specify through the authenticated-login attribute that the job is authenticated.

Enabling LDAP mode on an AIX or Linux SAP system running the SAP Client
To enable GOCA support from an AIX or Linux system, follow this procedure:
  1. Access the ipm_submit file for OMS configurations or the ipm_print file for non-OMS configurations. You can find these files in the /usr/lpp/pd/bin directory.
  2. If you use AIX or Linux, remove the hash mark (#) that is placed in front of the line #LDAP_MODE_ENABLED=‘YES’. To disable the LDAP mode, access these files again and add the hash mark (#) in front of the line.
Enabling LDAP mode on a Windows SAP system
If you have already installed the InforPrint Manager SAP Client on a Windows system and want to enable LDAP mode, access the SapIPMcfg.exe file from the directory where you installed the SAP client. When you click this file, it displays the IPM Server Settings dialog. Then, select IPM LDAP Mode and enable it. To disable the LDAP mode, access the SapIPMcfg.exe file and clear the check box.
Enabling GOCA support on an HP-UX or Sun Solaris SAP system
To enable the LDAP mode from an HP-UX system or a Sun Solaris system running the SAP client, you must enable the support for the InfoPrint Manager server to which the client machine is connected. If you are connected to an InfoPrint Manager AIX or InfoPrint Manger Linux, go to the AIX or Linux server and follow this procedure:
  1. Access the ipm_submit file for OMS configurations or the ipm_print file for non-OMS configurations. You can find these files in the /usr/lpp/pd/bin directory.
  2. If you use AIX or Linux, remove the hash mark (#) that is placed in front of the line #LDAP_MODE_ENABLED=”YES”. To disable the LDAP mode, access these files again and add the hash mark (#) in front of the line.

If you are connected to an InfoPrint Manager Windows server, access the SapIPMcfg.exe file from the directory where you installed InfoPrint Manager. When you click this file, it displays the IPM Server Settings dialog. Then, select IPM LDAP Mode and enable it. To disable the LDAP mode, access the SapIPMcfg.exe file and clear the check box.
