Understanding Destination Support Systems (DSS)
The software that the actual destination uses to send jobs to the output device is called the destination support system (DSS). When you select a DSS for an actual destination, you must consider a variety of different criteria. These criteria include the type of destination (for example, email server or printer), the document formats your destination accepts (for example ipds, pcl or ps), and the document formats you plan to send to InfoPrint Manager to deliver to your printer, and in some cases the printer model that an actual destination represents. For the attributes supported by each DSS, see RICOH InfoPrint Manager: Reference.
