Troubleshooting tasks

The InfoPrint SMIT administrator's interface menu selections for troubleshooting allow you to:

  • View a server error log

    This task opens a vi editor session containing the error log for the server that you specify. Server error logs contain messages about both successful and unsuccessful operations performed by the server and the objects the server contains. When you receive a notification message that instructs you to do so, you can open an error log to learn more information about a particular problem

  • Enable/disable server tracing

    This task should only be performed at the direction of your service representative.

  • Capture service/debug information

    This task should only be performed at the direction of your service representative.
