Introducing the SAP printer administration module

InfoPrint Manager allows the management of the print jobs and printers from an SAP system. You can receive a print job from an SAP system, update the status of the job, and, to a limited extent, the status of a printer. The SAP printer administration module configures the resources on the SAP system, namely the configuration of a ROMS and especially of its associated printers.

You can create and manage printers in any SAP system with a properly configured SAP callback daemon, as long as the user assigned to the callback daemon has the necessary access rights in the SAP system. The printers are defined using access method E. You can run all these tasks using the pdsap command in the command line interface or the InfoPrint Manager interfaces (InfoPrint Manager Web Management Interface and, to a limited extent, InfoPrint Manager Web Administration Interface).

The following operations must be allowed for the pdsap command:

• Create, change, or delete ROMS.
• Create, change, or delete LOMS. To use a LOMS, the user must be able to add, change, or delete command sets for the LOMS.
• Create, change, or delete printers with access method E.

The following operations must be allowed for the InfoPrint Manager interfaces:

• Edit/Change ROMS and LOMS.
• Create, edit/change, or delete printers with access method E.
