Description
The xml2afp command transforms a Extensible Markup Language (XML) data stream file into an AFP data stream file.
The PSF DSS runs the xml2afp command automatically whenever:
- InfoPrint identifies the format of a document in a print job as XML.
- You use the pdpr command to specify document-format=xml with the -x flag or in an attributes file.
- You specify a data type of -odatatype=xml with an AIX print command (enq, lp, or qprt) or with the lprafp command.
The xml2afp transform can be invoked from the command line, and the transform subsystem can be configured to invoke the xml2afp transform. Most xml2afp jobs will be submitted through the command line from an automated system that pulls the XML data from a database and uses existing style sheets.
For more information about the xml2afp transform, see “Working with Transforms” in the InfoPrint Manager: Procedures manual that is appropriate for your operating system.
