Start here for a new installation

This section describes how to complete an installation of the InfoPrint Manager product. If you are upgrading from an older InfoPrint Manager version, begin by first following the instructions in: Preparing to migrate to Version 4.8 Return to this section after you have completed those instructions.

The InfoPrint Installer lets you install InfoPrint Manager for AIX and the combination of features that meet the needs of your print environment.

After purchasing the product and feature licenses that you have chosen, Ricoh sends an email with EMS - Entitlement Certificate in the subject line to the email address provided when the order was placed. This email contains your Entitlement ID (EID). You can use the self-service web page at https://www.ricohsoftware-entitlements.com to generate your license keys using the fingerprint of the machine you intend to run InfoPrint Manager on and download the license keys needed for product registration. You can login on the self-service web page by using your Entitlement ID, User ID or Product Key. As a new customer most likely you will be using the Entitlement ID. The Entitlement ID is only used to identify what you have purchased. Register your license keys for the product each time you receive an email with an Entitlement ID for InfoPrint Manager components that you have purchased.

In order to install and register InfoPrint Manager you can decide on one of the following approaches:

  • Install InfoPrint Manager in trial mode on your server, get the fingerprint of your server where InfoPrint Manager was installed using the License Key Management Application (LKMA) and use the fingerprint on the self-web service site at https://ricohsoftware-entitlements.com to generate your license key. Download the license key from the self-web service site and register the product using the License Key Management Application (LKMA). For more information about LKMA, see section Managing trial and product InfoPrint Manager licenses using the License Key Management Application (LKMA).

  • Install InfoPrint Manager choosing the register manually option, during the installation steps you will be provided the fingerprint of your server and you will be asked for the license key. Use the provided fingerprint on the installer on the self-web service site at https://ricohsoftware-entitlements.com to generate your license key. Download the license key from the self-web service site and copy it on the server when your installation is in progress. Continue the installation by providing the path to the license key to your installer and complete the registration and installation process.

  • Before you start the installation, you can run the utility available on the root of the base product DVD-ROM called getfingerprint to get the fingerprint of your server. Login on the self-web service site at https://ricohsoftware-entitlements.com to generate your license key. From this point you have two ways to continue:

    • You can download the license key from the self-web service site and copy it on the server where you are about to install InfoPrint Manager. Start the installation process and continue to the installer panels, choosing the register manually option, and when you are asked for the license key, input the path to where you copied it on the server. Continue the installation and complete the registration and installation process.
    • If your server has access to the Internet, without downloading the license key, start the installation process and continue to the installer panels choosing the register automatically option, and when you are asked for the Entitlement ID, enter it on the required field. Continue the installation and complete the registration and installation process.
